As Manager, Digital Product Training, you will be responsible for the creation, development and implementation of training materials and course curriculum, to be utilized by the different cross functional teams at Alcon including sales, service, program managers, digital architects, field service, clinical applications and digital enablement teams.
You will be responsible for collaborating with the different global and regional training teams to ensure roles and responsibilities, and content development scope, are well defined. You will develop a process that ensures optimal hand-over of materials and resources to relevant groups so they can be incorporated into their training curriculum as appropriate. You will conduct train the trainer activities to ensure global and regional trainers are confident with the material and resources provided to them.
You will collaborate with the Surgical Senior Directors of Digital Product Management, Product Deployment and Product Marketing, to develop and execute against a digital-first application support strategy, including the use of both in-app and off-app training and support tools, that will ensure new and existing users of Alcon’s Adi applications are confident to utilize the full capabilities and workflows within the products.
Prior experience and knowledge required:
Clinical and surgical ophthalmology workflow knowledge.
Familiar with the different clinical and surgical ophthalmology personas and core user needs.
Ophthalmology DICOM workflow knowledge.
Ophthalmology EHR and PMS workflow knowledge including HL7 and FHIR.
Knowledge about the different types of in-App user training and user support tools being utilized within the MedTech industry for SAMD and non-SAMD applications.
Understand how to evaluate if a customer meets the minimum specifications provided by product and engineering for equipment and digital applications.
Ability to engage with customer IT teams to share and collect all the necessary data needed for a successful installation, including connectivity to devices and Healthcare IT systems.
Ability to engage with purchasing decision makers and IT professionals to evaluate suitability of on-prem versus cloud-based applications for their clinical workflow and business needs.
Ability to share and collect data to successfully address security and privacy questionnaires.
PowerPoint development and presentation skills.
Experience training technical and non-technical associates digital and networking concepts.
In this role, a typical day will include:
Develop the Global and Regional Surgical Training Manager’s technical product knowledge.
Develop the Global and Regional Surgical Training Manager’s general networking and digital workflow knowledge.
Build course curriculum for the surgical digital product functionality and support features, keeping pace with rapid digital release cycles.
Build course curriculum for the Adi end to end digital ecosystem
Build course curriculum that can support the successful engagement of technical and non-technical stakeholders across the sales cycle and opportunity management cycle.
Consult with the regional customer facing teams to benchmark the impact of the training and provide recommendations where appropriate to improve the effectiveness of the process.
Support sales meetings, major conventions, and product launches around the world.
Collaborate with the Global Sales Trainer to train the Surgical Regional Training Managers on how to instruct their reps to sell our digital products using the Surgical 360 Selling process.
Where appropriate, develop multi-media training tools and distance delivery vehicles to support the Alcon Learning Academy, trainee self-study, and classroom training.
Develop guidance for when to use which training and support features across the digital product lifecycle, including new product launches, major and minor software updates.
Collaborate with product, engineering and Walkme/Teachme developers to ensure each new software release has appropriate in-App training and support features available.
WHAT YOU'LL BRING TO ALCON:
Bachelor’s Degree or Equivalent years of directly related experience (or high school +13 yrs; Assoc.+9 yrs; M.S.+2 yrs; PhD+0 yrs)
The ability to fluently read, write, understand and communicate in English
