Skills
- Deep knowledge of chemical, electric, and hybrid propulsion systems and applicability to mission profiles
- Propulsion subsystem sizing and delta-V budgeting
- Experience with propulsion testing and validation in lab and flight-like environments
- Familiarity with orbital mechanics and resident space object tracking
- Spacecraft operations and satellite command-and-control experience
- Vendor management and supplier coordination for propulsion delivery
- Strong written and verbal communication, documentation, and training ability
- Eligibility to obtain and maintain U.S. Secret security clearance
Responsibilities
- Support propulsion subsystems across spacecraft programs in all orbital regimes and coordinate integration with bus providers
- Develop software-defined approaches to autonomous spacecraft operations with maneuvering capability
- Own delta-V budgets and size propulsion subsystems to meet mission requirements
- Create and execute test plans for ground checkout, on-orbit calibration/commissioning, and on-orbit operations
- Develop fueling plans and procedures for implemented propulsion systems
- Collaborate cross-functionally with spacecraft design, GNC, ground, and flight software teams
- Coordinate with end-users, operators, and customers to translate needs into features while balancing constraints
- Support tight schedules during ground testing, launch windows, and on-orbit operations
- Work with teams and agencies to obtain required transport and launch licenses (e.g., DOT) for fueled/pressurized containers
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Aerospace, Mechanical, or related engineering (or equivalent experience)
- Graduate degree (MS/PhD) in a relevant field is advantageous but not required
