Senior Electrical Engineer (TEMPEST)
Skills
- Certified TEMPEST Professional (CTP Level 2)
- 7+ years designing hardware products for EMI/EMC compliance
- Familiarity with EMI/EMC test equipment (spectrum analyzers, antennas, LISNs)
- Strong PCB layout knowledge and E-CAD experience (Altium or equivalent)
- Experience with EMC simulation and electromagnetic modeling
- Knowledge of modern analog/digital electronics, RF, and high-speed interfaces (Ethernet, PCIe, USB, CAN, SPI, I2C)
- Ability to read schematics and influence cross-discipline designs
- Active U.S. Secret security clearance (or ability to maintain one)
Responsibilities
- Evaluate high-speed digital, precision analog, RF, and high-power designs for EMI/EMC compliance.
- Use EMC simulation tools to predict and analyze system electromagnetic performance.
- Review schematics and PCB layouts and provide EMI/EMC-driven recommendations.
- Plan and conduct EMI/EMC testing (emissions and susceptibility) and troubleshoot issues.
- Drive product maturity via rapid prototyping, design verification, and qualification activities.
- Define and document EMI/EMC design guidelines and best practices for cross-functional teams.
- Perform peer-level and cross-discipline design reviews to mitigate EMI/EMC risks.
- Stay current on military and avionics EMI/EMC standards (e.g., MIL-STD-461, DO-160) and incorporate requirements into designs.
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electromagnetics, or related field (required)
- Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field (preferred)
