Senior Flight Software Engineer
Skills
- Proficient C programming and systems programming (algorithms, data structures, concurrency, optimization)
- Experience developing on an RTOS and building real-time embedded systems
- Knowledge of communications buses and protocols (CAN, CAN-FD, UART, SPI, I2C, Ethernet, MIL-STD-1553, ARINC, etc.)
- Device driver development and sensor/actuator integration
- Technical ownership: requirements, roadmap, stakeholder coordination, sustainment
- Ability to mentor peers and contribute to team cohesion
- Eligible to obtain and maintain an active U.S. Secret security clearance
Responsibilities
- Design and implement trusted, safety-critical vehicle management systems balancing multi-stakeholder constraints
- Develop scalable vehicle subsystems including sensor processing, state estimation, contingency management, actuation, and payload interfaces
- Author real-time embedded software using an RTOS and develop device drivers for a range of sensors and actuators
- Create software-and hardware-in-the-loop test and simulation fixtures and support manufacturing and deployment
- Contribute reusable software components across product lines and act as technical owner for subsystem components
- Mentor junior engineers and collaborate within multidisciplinary engineering teams
- Travel up to 20% to co-locate with end users or partner teams
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Robotics, Mechatronics, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience
- Willingness to pursue and maintain required security clearance
