- Strong DFM and documentation skills (MBOMs, work instructions, process flows)
- Hands-on hardware manufacturing experience (machining, fabrication, soldering, assembly)
- Capacity planning, time studies, and production metrics analysis
- Ability to troubleshoot mechanical, electrical/harness, and integration issues in real time
- Comfort working in a fast-paced, resource-constrained environment
Responsibilities
- Support product transitions from concept through prototype, pilot, and full production with focus on speed, scalability, and first-time quality.
- Provide daily sustaining support and real-time troubleshooting for mechanical fit, electrical/harness, and software/firmware integration issues.
- Collaborate with design engineers to implement Design for Manufacturing (DFM) practices during development.
- Create and maintain manufacturing documentation including MBOMs, work instructions, process flows, floor plans, time studies, and capacity analyses.
- Partner with manufacturing planning and production teams to define capacity and meet customer demand.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives targeting cost reduction, quality improvement, and capacity increases using metrics and data.
- Travel to suppliers and partner sites for sourcing, production issue resolution, and process implementation.
Education
- Degree in engineering, mathematics, or a hard science (required)
