Senior Software Engineer, Security Applications & Tools
Skills
- 5+ years building production software systems
- Strong proficiency in Go for backend services
- Proficiency in Python for scripting, automation, and tooling
- Experience with cloud infrastructure and event-driven architectures (AWS: SQS, Lambda, S3, ECR)
- Experience building distributed systems, data pipelines, and APIs
- Ability to interpret security tool outputs (vulnerability reports, SBOMs, static analysis) and build systems around them
- Clear communication skills and cross-team collaboration
- Eligible to obtain and maintain U.S. Secret security clearance
Responsibilities
- Design and implement distributed services for vulnerability scanning, policy enforcement, and remediation workflows
- Develop and extend an event-driven scanning orchestration platform on AWS (SQS, Lambda, S3, ECR)
- Build and maintain policy-as-code systems to enforce security in CI/CD and deployment configurations
- Design APIs and CLIs that integrate security tooling into developer workflows
- Create data pipelines to aggregate, normalize, and route findings from multiple scanners into vulnerability management systems
- Collaborate with product and engineering teams to understand needs and deliver security tooling
- Evaluate third-party security tools and build custom integrations or replacements
- Participate in on-call rotation for security tooling infrastructure
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience
- Relevant security, systems, or cloud training preferred
