Staff Guidance, Navigation and Control (GNC) Engineer - Tactical Reconnaissance & Strike
Skills
- Deep expertise in state estimation and filtering (Kalman filters, sensor fusion, complementary filters)
- Experience developing guidance algorithms and tactical target state estimation
- Modeling and simulation of linear and nonlinear dynamic systems and model linearization
- Proficiency in MATLAB and Simulink
- Proficiency in C/C++ for algorithm implementation
- Ability to work on-site and obtain/maintain U.S. Secret clearance
Responsibilities
- Design and implement terminal and midcourse guidance algorithms and state estimators for group 1-3 UAV platforms
- Collaborate with flight software and computer vision teams to define requirements and integrate GNC software
- Validate GNC functionality in simulation and support model development for functional evaluation
- Analyze flight and test data to verify vehicle performance, debug incidents, and iterate controller behavior
- Mentor junior engineers and own end-to-end guidance and estimation deliverables on aggressive timelines
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Robotics, Mechanical, Electrical, Aerospace Engineering, or related field (required)
- Master’s or PhD in a related field with emphasis on dynamic systems and control (preferred)
