Power Systems Engineer
Skills
- Expertise in wholesale electricity markets, ISO/RTO operations, and resource adequacy frameworks
- Proficiency with AC/DC power flow and production-cost models (PROMOD, Plexos, AURORA)
- Strong statistical modeling and forecasting skills using Python, R, or MATLAB
- Experience deploying machine learning models to production environments
- Ability to communicate complex technical findings to non-technical stakeholders
Responsibilities
- Develop and operationalize ML/AI models for load, generation, price, and renewable forecasting
- Design, evaluate, and analyze electrical systems related to electrification, grid integration, and power electronics
- Support long-range transmission and integrated resource planning, including renewable integration and production cost modeling
- Perform technical due diligence on electrical infrastructure, energy storage, and industrial electrification projects
- Translate technical analyses into clear, actionable recommendations for clients and internal stakeholders
- Collaborate cross-functionally with scientists, policy experts, and business development teams
- Contribute to publications, technical reports, and external communications on grid decarbonization
- Stay current on developments in power systems modeling, grid modernization, and industrial decarbonization
Education
- Master's or Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related quantitative field (required)
