Position Summary: The Project Engineer II is responsible for supporting the Project Manager and other project team members in executing activities to support the construction of assigned project(s) and to ensure the work performed is in conformance with the project objectives and the requirements of the construction documents. Primary areas of responsibility include bidding support, executing the submittal and RFI review process, document control, verification of as-builts, supporting quality control, supporting site safety, executing equipment receiving process, managing closeout documentation, and supporting cost management activities. The Project Engineer II position is based in Kalamazoo, Michigan metro area but may require travel to various unanticipated project locations throughout the Midwest region of the United States.
Responsibilities:
• Support the Project Manager and other project team members in executing activities for the construction, safety, logistics, and quality control criteria for large manufacturing and pharmaceutical plants, ensuring full compliance with project objectives, industry best practices, and regulatory standards
• Work with advanced SCADA system upgrades for electric and gas networks; RTU/SCADA implementation; NEC/NFPA 70 compliance for hazardous environments, and end-to-end management of high value subcontractor scopes
• Support the construction of assigned project(s) and to ensure the work performed is in conformance with the project objectives and the requirements of the construction documents
• Create digital models of buildings and project sites, using Virtual Design and Construction (VDC) models to visualize and plan building designs, processes, schedules, and budgets
• Provide bid support and execute the submittal and the Request for Information (RFI) review process
• Perform document control, including tracking, and organizing project documents to ensure accuracy, accessibility, and security throughout the project's lifecycle, using Microsoft Office suite
• Provide verification of as-builts
• Support quality control and site safety
• Execute equipment receiving process
• Oversee closeout documentation
• Support cost management activities

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related degree
• 4 years of electrical engineering experience with large-scale infrastructure of manufacturing construction projects Experience should include advanced SCADA system upgrades for electric and gas networks; RTU/SCADA implementation; NEC/NFPA 70 compliance for hazardous environments, end-to-end management of high value subcontractor scopes; electric utility system analysis including load-flaw, fault-duty, protective device coordination and arc-flash studies; and developing and managing temporary power solutions as well as substation maintenance and operations
• Demonstrated ability with VDC software and demonstrated ability to read electric utility system drawings (one-lines, three-lines, schematics, etc.)
• Demonstrated knowledge of electrical distribution systems, branch systems, and special systems (Low/High voltage) and demonstrated knowledge of electric utility distribution system switchgear.
