Media Manager, Higher Education & Healthcare

DLR Group is a 100% employee-owned integrated design firm focused on architecture, engineering, planning, and interiors with a mission to elevate the human experience through design. The firm is seeking a high-energy media relations professional to lead media and influencer engagement for its Healthcare and Higher Education sectors, developing and executing integrated media strategies that promote projects, thought leadership, and sector expertise.

Skills

  • Proven media relations and pitching experience, including trade and industry press
  • Excellent writing, editing, and storytelling skills
  • Strong interpersonal and cross-functional collaboration ability
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple deadlines with a sense of urgency
  • Familiarity integrating earned, owned, and social media tactics
  • Project and stakeholder management skills, including managing senior contributors

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute a disciplined media relations plan and calendar for Healthcare and Higher Education sectors
  • Research, write, proofread, and edit press releases, bylines, media pitches, and thought leadership content
  • Build and maintain relationships with trade, consumer, news, and digital media contacts and key influencers
  • Collaborate with sector marketing leaders, design teams, and SMEs to identify story opportunities and craft messaging
  • Coordinate cross-channel promotion of earned media with digital and social teams
  • Establish KPIs and measure/report media outcomes and campaign impact
  • Champion brand voice, standards, and style across all communications
  • Identify cross-sector media opportunities and work with peer media managers to amplify coverage

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in integrated marketing communications, public relations, journalism, or related field (required)
