What You'll Do

This summer, you'll step into a role at the intersection of rigorous research and real-world educational impact. As an Efficacy Research Intern at Edmentum, you'll work alongside a team of experienced Research Scientists to conduct studies that directly shape how educators and students experience our products. This is not a passive internship: you'll do meaningful work on live research projects, engage with real data, and contribute to outputs that reach both internal leaders and an external Technical Advisory Committee. If you're passionate about evidence-based education and want to see your analytical skills applied to problems that matter, this is your opportunity.

This position is remote, will begin on or around June 1, 2026 and will last 10 weeks. Due to frequent collaboration with team members, working hours will follow typical central time business hours with some flexibility as needed.

In this role you will:

  • Execute quantitative analyses for efficacy research studies, including experimental, quasi-experimental, and correlational designs, using R programming on large real-world datasets
  • Clean, merge, and organize complex data files from district and school partners, ensuring research-ready quality across studies
  • Contribute to research briefs, technical documents, and presentations that communicate findings to internal teams and Edmentum's external Technical Advisory Committee
  • Support stakeholder engagement by helping maintain relationships with district personnel and collaborating across product, services, and sales teams
  • Stay current on WWC and ESSA evidence standards and bring relevant methodological developments to the team
  • Partner with cross-functional teams including learning design, engineering, psychometrics, product management, and marketing at key phases of study development and dissemination

Who You Are

  • You are currently enrolled in a PhD program (two or more years preferred) in educational research methodology, statistics, learning sciences, quantitative psychology, economics, or a closely related field
  • You have completed at least one year of advanced graduate-level statistics coursework, such as hierarchical linear modeling, with two years preferred
  • You have at least one year of applied research experience in educational settings, ideally with some exposure to efficacy research for programs or products
  • You have experience with experimental, quasi-experimental, correlational, and/or case study research designs
  • You are proficient in R programming language; experience with Databricks is a plus
  • You have the ability to manage and analyze large datasets (greater than 10 million records)
  • You are knowledgeable about What Works Clearinghouse and ESSA evidence requirements
  • You have strong written and verbal communication skills and can translate technical findings for diverse audiences
  • You are a self-starter who can work independently while staying open to guidance, collaboration, and feedback
  • You bring genuine curiosity about K-12 learning, educational technology, and the role of evidence in improving student outcomes
  • You are comfortable working remotely with a team that follows central time business hours
  • You are willing to take on evolving responsibilities based on business needs.
