The Exploratorium in San Francisco is seeking an On-Call Research and Evaluation Assistant to support visitor learning and program evaluation through conducting interviews, data collection, and assisting in evaluation methods.
Responsibilities: Key responsibilities include conducting visitor interviews, recording responses, coding data, and suggesting improvements to evaluation instruments and methods.
Skills: Required skills include excellent communication and listening abilities, attention to detail, proficiency in iPads and Microsoft Excel, and familiarity with video/audio data collection systems.
Qualifications: A High School Diploma or GED is required, with interest or experience in research or evaluation preferred.
Location: San Francisco, California
Compensation: $27 - $29 / Hourly
SUMMARY
This position is responsible for assisting with visitor learning and evaluation of museum exhibits and programs at the Exploratorium or partner sites. Responsibilities include conducting interviews with visitors, recording interviews and survey responses, soliciting written consent for audio and video taping, conducting audio and video taping, entering and coding various types of data, and actively suggesting improvements to instruments and methods being developed. The position reports to the Manager of Visitor Research and Evaluation.
