Role: News Photography Intern

We are searching for an emerging news photographer who demonstrates a willingness to progress in their craft and an ability to capture the dynamic news environment through their unique perspective.
You are a professional with under 3 years of experience who is passionate about storytelling through photography. You are interested in working with some of the most recognized news photographers and editors in the industry and want to pursue a career in the field.
This opportunity is a paid eight month internship taking place from May 2026 through December 2026 in our Washington DC bureau.
We recognize that the barriers to entry to professional photography are high therefore we have created an opportunity where enthusiastic and committed photographers are supported.
Regardless of current equipment status, we will provide you with a full Canon kit for the duration of your internship (e.g., camera, accessories, lenses) as well as a laptop, mifi and iPhone.

You will join a team of highly collaborative and talented photographers, videographers and editors.

You understand that this job requires flexibility on your schedule and that assignments occurring on nights and weekends are often possible.
