- Proficient in CATIA V6 for 3D modeling and 2D deliverables (CATIA V5 acceptable)
- Strong understanding of DFM and DFA for sheetmetal and stamping
- Experience with BOM and part specification creation
- Ability to perform strength calculations and material selection
- Proficiency with MS Office
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Problem-solving and negotiation skills for supplier and cross-functional interaction
Responsibilities
- Lead and support engineering activities for large-scale BIW product development programs
- Create 3D models, 2D drawings and 3D annotations using CATIA V6 (CATIA V5 considered)
- Develop part specifications and BOMs
- Perform strength calculations, material selection, and cost analysis
- Apply DFM and DFA principles for sheetmetal and stamping processes
- Coordinate and negotiate design interfaces with component business units and suppliers
- Investigate feasibility, resolve complex design issues, and propose improvements
- Drive efficiency and cost reduction through design best practices and new technologies
- Travel to client sites as required
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering required
- Preferred disciplines: Mechanical, Mechanical Technology, Aerospace, Automotive, Manufacturing
