Skills
- Strong engineering background with demonstrated ability to engage in technical design discussions.
- Working knowledge of at least one cloud provider (AWS/GCP/Azure) and Kubernetes.
- Hands-on experience with modern corporate IT systems across Windows, macOS, Linux, iOS, and Android.
- Experience with SSO (e.g., Okta), secrets/password tools (e.g., 1Password), MDM (e.g., Jamf, Intune, FleetDM), EDR, and DLP.
- Familiarity with typical corporate SaaS platforms (e.g., Google Workspace, Salesforce, Zendesk).
- Practical experience integrating and securing AI providers and tooling (OpenAI, Anthropic, Google, etc.).
- DevOps mindset: automation, enablement, guardrails, and platform thinking over ticketing.
- Strong written and verbal communication to convey complex concepts to technical and non-technical audiences.
- Ability to work Eastern-time oriented hours and collaborate globally.
Responsibilities
- Lead and grow the Corporate Engineering team covering corporate systems, device lifecycles, helpdesk queues, and internal tooling development.
- Drive corporate security initiatives with employee-enabling guardrails and paved roads rather than gates.
- Define and operationalize the company-wide internal AI rollout, enablement, and security strategy.
- Manage vendor relationships, negotiations, and contracting for core SaaS services.
- Make work, processes, and costs visible to stakeholders and use that visibility for continuous improvement.
- Leverage Grafana products and open-source practices to solve corporate engineering challenges and share outputs where appropriate.
- Act as a cross-functional leader within the Foundations department and collaborate with other platform, business application, and security teams.
- Provide regular coaching, 1:1s, feedback, and mentoring to ensure team health, engagement, and high standards.
- Participate in team activities, contribute to and review design documents, and be part of the team’s on-call rotation.
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
- Advanced degree (MS/PhD) is a plus but not required.
