Senior Manager, Project Finance
Hanwha Renewables is a leading renewable energy developer and operator in North America, delivering utility-scale solar PV and BESS solutions as part of the global Hanwha Group. The Senior Manager, Project Finance will lead capital raise and project sell-down activities, drive financial modeling and due diligence, and cultivate investor relationships to finance utility-scale solar and storage projects.
Skills
- Extensive investor and banking network for project finance and buy-side relationships
- Advanced Excel and financial modeling for project-level finance
- Deep knowledge of solar PV and BESS project finance lifecycle
- Experience with capital raise, tax equity, project lenders, and sell-down transactions
- Ability to prepare investor-facing marketing materials and manage data rooms
- Strong negotiation, communication, and stakeholder management skills
- Understanding of RFP processes and project development risk factors
Responsibilities
- Identify and engage potential project investors and buyers across banking, tax equity, IPPs, and institutional investors; maintain and grow strategic relationships.
- Develop, maintain and run sophisticated project finance models to forecast liabilities, price PPAs, and evaluate project economics under multiple financing scenarios.
- Initiate and execute capital raise and project sale strategies, including preparation of marketing materials and management of data rooms and diligence processes.
- Collaborate with development teams to integrate financing structures with project design and commercial terms to maximize NPV and returns.
- Coordinate with operations and construction teams to validate Capex/Opex assumptions (e.g., sales tax, property tax) and ensure defensible financial inputs.
- Manage investor due diligence, negotiate commercial and financing terms, and lead closings for complex financing and sell-down transactions.
- Provide senior leadership with financing recommendations, highlight critical project finance risks, and propose remedial actions.
- Travel domestically as required to meet investors, partners, and project teams.
Education
- BS/BA in finance, accounting, engineering, economics or related field (required)
- MBA or advanced finance degree preferred
- Relevant certifications or training in project finance or renewable energy finance are a plus
