Principal, Product Analytics

Material Bank is the world’s largest material marketplace for the architecture and design industry, operating globally and connecting designers with thousands of materials. We are hiring a Principal, Product Analytics to build and lead the company's analytics function, define instrumentation and event taxonomy for the MB3 platform, and deliver measurement, attribution, and insights that drive product, marketing, and business decisions.

Skills

Instrumentation & event taxonomy design
Attribution modeling across digital and physical touchpoints
Translating business questions into measurement plans
SQL and data model validation
Experience with Snowflake and dbt-based models
Familiarity with Segment (or similar) event tracking
BI tooling for dashboard requirements and QA (Looker/Tableau)
Ability to size business impact (revenue, retention, efficiency)
Cross-functional stakeholder communication and partnership
Building analytics from ambiguous/early-stage data environments

Responsibilities

Own and implement end-to-end instrumentation for MB3, including event taxonomy, tracking standards, and data quality
Establish core metrics for Product, Marketing, and leadership (engagement, conversion, attribution, platform health)
Define measurable success criteria, maintain migration scorecards, and support stage-gate decisions with adoption and performance data
Identify performance gaps, quantify impact of product initiatives, and inform prioritization and roadmap decisions
Write detailed dashboard requirements, partner with Data Engineering on data models, and validate reporting outputs for accuracy
Design and refine attribution approaches across digital and physical touchpoints to improve visibility for internal teams and brand partners
Translate business questions into measurement plans and ensure insights lead to action across Product, Marketing, and Business teams
Audit existing data systems (Segment, Snowflake), close gaps, and establish scalable data standards and instrumentation practices
Lead and mentor analytics practitioners and coordinate cross-functional analytics projects

Education

Bachelor's degree in a quantitative field (e.g., Statistics, Economics, Computer Science, Engineering) preferred
Advanced degree (MS/PhD or MBA) is a plus but not required
