Senior Autonomy Release Engineer II

May Mobility builds and deploys autonomous vehicle systems to improve urban transit, safety, and accessibility. The Senior Autonomy Release Engineer II will own release execution and system-level release readiness across autonomy software and hardware, driving CI/CD, validation, and safety gating while debugging complex interactions between simulation and on-vehicle behavior.

Skills

  • 7+ years in autonomous systems, release engineering, or DevOps
  • Strong Python and scripting skills
  • Working knowledge of C/C++
  • Proven ability to debug complex system-level issues
  • Familiarity with simulation frameworks, HIL, and vehicle testing
  • Experience with CI/CD, branching strategies, and release management
  • Strong cross-domain communication and collaboration skills

Responsibilities

  • Own and execute release process end-to-end for major, incremental, and hotfix releases
  • Manage branching strategy, versioning, and release cut processes
  • Drive release readiness and go/no-go decisions across cross-functional teams
  • Investigate and resolve complex software/hardware and distributed system issues
  • Integrate validation signals from simulation, regression tests, HIL, and vehicle testing
  • Enforce stage-gated release framework (Feature Complete → Code Freeze → Validation → RC)
  • Create instrumentation and monitoring to prove system correctness and safety
  • Collaborate with autonomy, infrastructure, validation, and operations to scale release cadence
  • Assess and improve compute performance, memory, disk, and network usage
  • Support autonomy engineers in component integration and system-level improvements

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Robotics, Computer Science, Computer/Electrical Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • Advanced degree (MS/PhD) in a relevant discipline preferred
