Quality Program Manager, Comfort
Palmetto is a mission-driven clean tech company building software, financial products, and services to accelerate home electrification. The Quality Program Manager, Comfort will design and scale a multi-technology quality assurance framework for residential HVAC, geothermal, water heaters, and generators, lead the QC Technician team, and partner cross-functionally to ensure code-compliant, high-quality installations by certified contractors.
Skills
- Deep technical knowledge of residential HVAC and/or geothermal systems
- Experience developing and operationalizing SOPs and quality programs
- Data analytics and performance reporting skills
- Cross-functional collaboration with product and engineering teams
- Experience leading and coaching small technical teams
- Excellent written and verbal communication and influencing skills
- Knowledge of residential codes, compliance, and installation best practices
- Process improvement and program scaling experience
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain quality standards, SOPs, and contractor approval requirements across HVAC, geothermal, water heater, and generator product lines
- Build quality review frameworks for emerging technologies and iterate using data and contractor feedback
- Lead and manage the QC Technician team, including workload allocation and daily milestone review throughput
- Create and deliver training, onboarding, and knowledge-base materials for contractors and internal teams
- Establish performance benchmarks, feedback loops, and KPI reporting to reduce rejections and improve quality
- Partner with product, tech, and after-market teams to design service and warranty programs and to streamline platform workflows
- Monitor project review queues, ensure SLA targets are met, and optimize queue throughput
- Provide proactive contractor communication, resolution of quality issues, and conduct business reviews with key partners
- Collaborate with data analytics to refine reporting and deliver executive summaries of KPIs and trends
- Keep standards current with industry trends, code changes, and best practices across supported technologies
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, HVAC Engineering, Energy Systems, Building Services Engineering, or related field (required)
- Industry certifications such as EPA 608 or NATE (preferred)
