- Strong communication and collaboration with municipal officials, utilities, and contractors
- Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize workload
Responsibilities
- Design and plan outside plant facilities for aerial, buried, and conduit copper and fiber infrastructure.
- Prepare and review engineering drawings, loop loss calculations, and serving area designs.
- Conduct field measurements and site surveys for poles, conduits, and buried facilities.
- Prepare and submit permit packages to township, county, state, DNR, railroad, pipeline, and other agencies.
- Coordinate with utilities, municipalities, and contractors to minimize conflicts and ensure timely relocations.
- Develop and monitor project budgets, perform job inspections, and ensure quality assurance.
- Support construction and make-ready work, joint-use coordination, and pole ownership issues.
- Update engineering records and tools (FROGS, Varasset, SiteTracker) and maintain engineering files and documentation.
- Respond to plant damage requests, cable count changes, and PUC complaint investigations.
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Telecommunications, Construction Management, or related field preferred
