Reliability Engineer, Energy Storage
Skills
- Deep understanding of electronic and mechanical failure mechanisms (solder fatigue, corrosion, delamination, sealing failures, thermal mismatch, material fatigue)
- Experience designing and executing HALT, thermal cycling, vibration, humidity, drop, IP, and power cycling tests
- Proficiency in statistical analysis tools (Minitab, JMP, or Python) and reliability models (Weibull, log-normal)
- Hands-on experience with reliability lab equipment and test setup design
- Experience with failure analysis techniques (optical microscopy, SEM, CSAM, X-ray, cross-sectioning, EDX)
- Familiarity with FMEA/DFMEA and design-for-reliability practices
- Ability to synthesize test data into actionable engineering recommendations and clear reports
Responsibilities
- Define and own reliability strategy for PCBA and electromechanical hardware
- Plan and execute reliability tests (HALT, thermal cycling, vibration, drop, humidity, IP, power cycling)
- Develop accelerated life test models and perform statistical reliability predictions (Weibull, log-normal)
- Collaborate cross-functionally to define DfR requirements and establish program reliability gates
- Drive root cause analysis and support failure analysis using X-ray, cross-sectioning, SEM/EDX, and other tools
- Track reliability KPIs and deliver insights to guide design improvements and product decisions
- Support FMEA/DFMEA processes and document test methods, results, and recommendations
- Contribute to continuous improvement of reliability processes, lab capabilities, and test methodologies
Education
- Bachelor's or Master's in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, or related field
