Manufacturing Test Engineer II, Pneumatic Mechanisms & Fluid Assemblies

Relativity Space is building rockets and the factory systems to produce them at scale. The Stage Manufacturing team converts design into production-ready assemblies for the Terran R vehicle. They seek a hands-on Manufacturing Test Engineer II to develop, validate, and refine test assets and processes for mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic systems, drive test execution in production, troubleshoot issues on the shop floor, and lead cross-functional root-cause analysis and improvements.

Skills

  • Authoring and executing test procedures for mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic assemblies
  • Designing and implementing test fixtures, tooling, and integrated test systems
  • Data analysis for test results and leading root-cause analysis
  • Hands-on experience with leak checking, sensor instrumentation, and functional checkouts
  • Strong knowledge of safety standards and mitigation for test hazards

Responsibilities

  • Develop, validate, and refine test assets, tooling, and processes for mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic assemblies.
  • Design or source test equipment, author test specifications and procedures, and create mBOMs and work orders.
  • Lead test sequencing, training, and production test campaigns to ensure scalable, reliable execution.
  • Provide technical leadership for workcenter development, safety compliance, tooling, and capital equipment alignment.
  • Support shop-floor personnel with hands-on troubleshooting and provide design-for-testability/manufacturability feedback.
  • Analyze test data, identify recurring discrepancies, lead root cause investigations, and implement corrective actions.
  • Coordinate cross-functionally with design, production, supply chain, and quality to align manufacturing test processes.

Education

  • BS in aerospace, mechanical, electrical, manufacturing engineering or related discipline
  • 3+ years experience building and testing hardware in a manufacturing environment
