Skills
- Proven experience designing tooling, fixtures, and custom machines for manufacturing
- Proficiency with CAD and FEA tools (NX and ANSYS Workbench preferred)
- Strong understanding of GD&T, tolerance stack-up, and design for manufacturability/assembly
- Experience managing full project lifecycles including vendor coordination and commissioning
- Familiarity with manufacturing processes (welding, machining, sheet metal, rigging, lifting) and materials
Responsibilities
- Design and develop production and development tooling, fixtures, and custom automation for vehicle and engine programs
- Perform structural analysis and FEA to validate designs for manufacturing environments
- Create and maintain tooling drawings and definitions using ASME Y14.5 and company standards
- Collaborate with component designers, manufacturing engineers, and integration teams to optimize safety, cost, quality, cycle time, and maintainability
- Manage projects from concept through fabrication, inspection, installation, and commissioning, including vendor selection and oversight
- Support factory automation integration and commissioning activities on the shop floor
- Provide technical leadership across multiple concurrent projects of varying scale
Education
- Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or equivalent
- Demonstrated continuous learning or technical training relevant to tooling, analysis, or manufacturing
