Staff Structural Analyst, Propulsion

Relativity Space is building rockets and factory-scale manufacturing capabilities for Terran R. The Propulsion team develops high-performance, manufacturable engines; they own parts from design through production, qualification, and flight. We're seeking a Staff Structural Analyst to lead thermal, structural, dynamic, and durability analyses for Aeon-R engines and subsystems, collaborate closely with designers and manufacturing engineers, and support test development and execution.

Skills

  • Finite Element Analysis (FEA) experience
  • Proficiency with CAD software
  • Structural dynamics and durability (fatigue/fracture) analysis
  • Experience analyzing 3D-printed metal components
  • Hands-on test integration and instrumentation skills
  • Data processing and result interpretation
  • Strong collaboration with design and manufacturing teams

Responsibilities

  • Perform thermal, structural, dynamic, and durability (fatigue/fracture) analyses on Aeon-R engines and subsystems
  • Analyze 3D-printed engine components, complex mechanical assemblies, and fully integrated engine assemblies
  • Collaborate with mechanical designers and manufacturing engineers to optimize engine and vehicle solutions
  • Develop and execute development and qualification tests, including test article integration and instrumentation setup
  • Process and analyze test data to validate models and inform design iterations
  • Guide design decisions to meet reliability and performance requirements

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in a science, engineering, technology, or mathematics field (required)
