Responsibilities
- Integrate electromechanical and mechatronic systems with investment casting equipment (wax injectors, ceramic systems, preheating, melting, and controlled solidification furnaces).
- Design and develop manufacturing data systems to analyze equipment KPIs, support quality inspection, enable real-time process optimization, and improve uptime and reliability.
- Implement data collection and storage solutions; interface Python/SQL routines with MES and production databases and incorporate sensor data for condition monitoring and fault prediction.
- Create and optimize HMI/SCADA/MES interfaces and integrate predictive analytics for equipment health monitoring.
- Participate in initial equipment conceptual development balancing product specs, process needs, layout complexity, cost, and lead time.
- Design industrial electrical control panels compliant with NFPA79/NEC/UL508A and produce electrical, pneumatic, and fluid schematics.
- Architect, write, and debug organized, documented, maintainable PLC code for manufacturing applications.
- Implement ANSI/RIA/OSHA-compliant safety systems for robots, gantries, conveyors and other equipment.
- Select and size electrical and electromechanical components such as servo motors and controllers and oversee cabinet builds, field wiring, pneumatic and fluid plumbing.
- Troubleshoot and repair electro-mechanical devices and support commissioning and continuous improvement efforts on the production floor.
Education
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, physics, or computer science required
- Advanced degree in a related discipline preferred but not required
