Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering
- Experience with fluid components (valves, pumps, compressors, heat exchangers)
- CAD modeling proficiency (NX or similar) and GD&T knowledge
- Fluid system analysis and pressure/component sizing
- Experience with test instrumentation and data acquisition (pressure transducers, thermocouples, RTDs)
- Familiarity with HVAC systems and air ducting
- Ability to work independently and in cross-functional teams
- ITAR-eligible or otherwise authorized per posting
Responsibilities
- Serve as subject matter expert for HVAC, compressed air, piping, dust collection and other fluid systems across campus
- Perform CAD modeling and detailed component/system design
- Conduct fluid analyses for pressure balance, component allowable, and consumables sizing
- Define test plans and perform commissioning and validation using DAQ and instrumentation
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary stakeholders (production, avionics, GNC, mission ops) to meet requirements
- Ensure designs are manufacturable and support transition to production with minimal sustainment
- Support material selection, sizing, procurement and vendor communication
- Troubleshoot and optimize system performance during activation and operations
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline (required)
- Master’s degree in an engineering discipline (preferred)
