Responsibilities
- Lead and grow a multidisciplinary utilities team of engineers, operators, technicians, and maintenance staff supporting 24/7 operations.
- Own performance and availability of major utility systems: power generation/distribution, industrial water, cooling, wastewater, and natural gas infrastructure.
- Drive strategic utility capacity planning and deliver capital projects from design through commissioning and integration with production.
- Establish and continuously improve preventive, predictive, and condition-based maintenance programs to maximize uptime.
- Manage operating budgets, utility cost forecasting, energy/water conservation initiatives, and vendor/service contracts.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local environmental permits and regulatory requirements.
- Partner with manufacturing, production engineering, EHS, and facilities projects to anticipate demand and resolve issues rapidly.
- Lead root cause analysis and corrective actions for utility incidents and implement lessons learned sitewide.
- Maintain rigorous safety practices in hazardous industrial environments and ensure on-call emergency readiness.
- Create and maintain technical documentation (P&IDs, single-line diagrams, SOPs) and performance metrics.
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Civil, Environmental engineering or related engineering discipline (required)
- Advanced degree or professional licensing is a plus
