MEP Design Engineer
Skills
- Bachelor's degree in electrical, mechanical, or related engineering discipline
- 3+ years professional experience designing or building MEP building systems
- Experience with electrical and power distribution systems (<600 Vac)
- Knowledge of HVAC systems including chillers, boilers, refrigeration, and air-handling equipment
- Plumbing design experience for domestic water, wastewater, venting, and storm systems
- Familiarity with critical power infrastructure: UPS, backup generators, automatic transfer switches
- AutoCAD/Revit beginner to intermediate proficiency
- Working knowledge of NEC, ASHRAE, NFPA, and IBC
- Construction contract management and field coordination experience
- Ability to work onsite in varied environmental conditions and lift up to 25 lbs
Responsibilities
- Lead project teams, consulting engineers, and contractors through MEP engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning
- Develop and issue drawings, design documentation, and technical reports for aerospace, industrial, and commercial projects
- Write, negotiate, and manage construction contracts and subcontractor scopes through close-out
- Resolve design and construction conflicts in the field in real time
- Coordinate with electrical utility providers to ensure reliable power service for critical site infrastructure
- Interact with engineers, contractors, fabricators, and internal stakeholders to meet project requirements
- Support commissioning, start-up, and handover of MEP systems
- Perform hands-on field work and assist technicians with troubleshooting and repairs as needed
Education
- Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, or a related engineering discipline
