- Hands-on experience with mechanical, fluid, structural, or propulsion systems

- Instrumentation: transducers, RTDs, strain gauges, accelerometers, flow meters, load cells
- Experience with hazardous systems handling (cryogenics, hypergolic, high-pressure fluids)
- Scripting or programming for test automation and data processing
- Ability to write and maintain clear test procedures and work instructions
- Practical fabrication and mechanical troubleshooting skills
- Strong teamwork, communication, and leadership under pressure
- Physical dexterity and ability to wear respirators and perform moderate lifting
Responsibilities
- Plan, develop, and execute engine and component level tests to evaluate performance and survivability under flight conditions.
- Own test campaigns end-to-end: create test plans, activate new systems, run tests, review data, and design/fabricate test-stand equipment as needed.
- Direct and instruct technicians on fabrication and integration of test articles and stand equipment.
- Develop and maintain test procedures, sequences, scripts, configuration files, and associated software.
- Operate and troubleshoot data acquisition and control systems (primarily National Instruments-based), wiring, and instrumentation.
- Operate and troubleshoot fluid and mechanical systems including low-to-high-pressure gases, cryogenics, hypergolics, structural components, and supporting infrastructure.
- Automate repetitive test operations to improve efficiency and safety; develop processes to increase testing capability and cadence.
- Identify hazards and system pitfalls, collaborate with design engineers to resolve anomalies and improve test stands and flight hardware.
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, aerospace, electrical engineering, or related engineering field (required)
