Senior Security Engineer
Skills
- Strong working knowledge of AWS services (EC2, ECS/EKS, Lambda, VPC, Transit Gateway, ELB, S3, CloudWatch, CodePipeline, etc.)
- Infrastructure-as-code experience (Terraform or similar) and AWS CLI/SDK/Boto
- Extensive SIEM content engineering and log onboarding experience (Splunk preferred)
- Scripting proficiency (Python, Bash) and API integrations
- Experience building SOAR playbooks and automation for investigations
- Solid networking fundamentals and troubleshooting for bare metal and containerized workloads
- Familiarity with CI/CD and Git/GitHub-based pipelines
- Understanding of endpoint detection tools and cloud security posture concepts
Responsibilities
- Design, improve, and maintain secure, durable, and performant cloud infrastructure for applications, security tooling, logging, and ETL workflows.
- Evolve log collection, processing, and storage infrastructure to enable robust security monitoring and investigations.
- Support multi-account, multi-region AWS networking architectures with security-first principles.
- Develop and maintain Splunk detection content and administer Splunk Cloud (search health, log health, app/content updates).
- Design and implement SOAR playbooks to automate investigation and response workflows.
- Integrate infrastructure security tooling and automation to enhance detection, prevention, and response capabilities.
- Build and maintain detection-as-code and automated deployment pipelines for repeatability and auditability.
- Refine detection logic to reduce false positives and increase signal quality.
- Support incident response escalations and uphold security and compliance standards (e.g., SOC 2, ISO27001).
- Drive architectural decisions for detection platforms and mentor junior engineers.
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, Engineering, or equivalent experience
- Relevant security certifications or equivalent hands-on experience preferred
