Overview:

Today, National Ramp is in search of a passionate and enthusiastic Accounting Manager that will bring their expertise to our team and help us grow to become the #1 Ramp Company in the World.

The Accounting Manager is a strategic and hands-on financial leader responsible for building scalable accounting processes, strengthening internal controls, and driving operational financial performance within a growing manufacturing organization.

This role will focus heavily on establishing strong financial discipline in the first 12 months, including process standardization, compliance rigor, KPI visibility, and cross-functional partnership with Operations, Supply Chain, and Sales.

Key Responsibilities:

Financial Leadership & Strategy

• Serve as a trusted advisor to the CEO and executive team.
• Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes with accuracy and timeliness.
• Develop financial reporting that translates operational performance into actionable insights.
• Support strategic planning, budgeting, and forecasting initiatives
• Establish performance metrics within the finance function.

Strengthen Financial Controls & Governance

• Evaluate and upgrade internal control framework.
• Document and standardize accounting policies and procedures.
• Ensure GAAP compliance and audit readiness.
• Improve segregation of duties and approval workflows.
• Lead external audit and tax coordination.

Inventory & Cost Accounting Rigor

• Strengthen standard costing and variance analysis.
• Improve inventory accuracy and cycle count processes.
• Align physical inventory procedures with financial reporting.
• Validate BOM accuracy and labor/overhead allocations.
• Monitor excess and obsolete inventory reserves.

Cash Flow & Working Capital Optimization

• Improve AR and AP processes.
• Implement structured cash forecasting.
• Monitor working capital drivers.
• Establish clear capital expenditure approval process.

Systems & Process Improvement

• Optimize ERP utilization (manufacturing modules, cost accounting, inventory controls).
• Drive automation in reporting and reconciliations.
• Implement dashboard tools for real-time KPI visibility for all departments.
• Improve integration between Finance, Operations, and Supply Chain.
• Implement standardized financial reporting packages for leadership

Risk Management and Business Insurance

• Oversee all corporate insurance programs including general liability, property, product liability, auto, umbrella, and any other applicable coverages.
• Lead annual policy renewals, coverage evaluations, and cost negotiations to ensure competitive rates and appropriate risk protection.
• Ensure compliance with contractual insurance requirements from customers and vendors.
• Proactively identify operational risks and implement controls to minimize exposure across manufacturing, warehouse, and logistics functions.

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or related field.
• 5-7+ years of progressive accounting experience at a Manufacturing business
• Industry-Specific Knowledge: Expertise in cost accounting, inventory management, and plant performance analysis is crucial.
• Technical Skills: Proficiency in financial modeling, data analysis, ERP systems, and financial reporting tools
• Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial modeling, and budgeting processes.
• Proven experience managing audits, financial reporting, and internal controls.
• Excellent analytical, communication, and leadership skills.
• Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment and influence at all levels

Location: Valley Cottage, NY (On-Site), 4 days a week.

Salary: The salary range for this position, based in Valley Cottage, NY, is $130,000 - $150,000 per year, plus incentives. The final salary will be based on the candidate's qualifications and experience.
