Are you the new customer-focused Field Service Expert and Team Player for Valmet’s Automation Business line?

Valmet is looking for an individual to perform day-to-day maintenance and repair of our analyzer equipment at a customer sites, typically within the Ark-La- Tex area, mostly within the pulp and paper industry. As a Valmet analyzer specialist, you will act as liaison between the customer and Valmet’s advanced process control group.

As a Service Engineer, you will be based near Shreveport but work at multiple customer sites and provide preventive and predictive maintenance on Valmet analyzers and measurement devices.

Ideal candidates will have:

• A bachelor’s or associate's degree in electrical, Electronic, Instrumentation, Mechatronics, Chemical or Paper engineering with relevant experience.
• Instrumentation and controls background.
• Have a good understanding of paper making processes.
• Good working knowledge of Windows and networking, knowledge of Word and Excel.
• Good interpersonal skills. Our employees interact with confidence within all organizational levels.
• The ability to use tools appropriately and in a safe manner.
• Be able to lift up to 30lbs
• Strong fault-finding skills and a paying attention to detail.
• The ability to self-manage time and work with little to no supervision.

Day to day activities will include:

• Ensure peak performance of Valmet’s process analyzers at customer sites.
• Daily customer meetings to determine the scope of what is needed and follow up on work that has been performed.
• Constant customer training and interactions with operations to be sure equipment is performing and being utilized as expected.
• Perform sensor correlations.
• Perform preventive and remedial maintenance and fault finding as needed, including daily cleaning and performance checks.
• Provide emergency, remote, phone and internet support to customers.
• Generate quality reports.
