Skills
- Experience conducting design reviews, qualification reviews, or major change assessments
- Systems integration and test engineering expertise for flight or safety-critical hardware
- Strong written and verbal communication with demonstrated influence across organizations
- Ability to create and maintain engineering standards, templates, and checklists
- Scripting and data analysis skills (Python, MATLAB, Excel) and familiarity with visualization tools
- Hands-on experience with hardware assembly, integration, or qualification
- Familiarity with human-rated hardware standards, fracture control, or reliability methodologies
Responsibilities
- Lead and drive milestone design reviews, major risk gates, and technical assessments for artificial-gravity habitat systems.
- Oversee qualification and test completeness for flight systems, ensuring robust, human-rated test campaigns.
- Identify risks early in design and test campaigns and guide teams toward resilient solutions.
- Evaluate complex design and operational changes to preserve technical integrity as systems evolve.
- Develop, maintain, and steward engineering standards, design guides, and review frameworks.
- Build and refine design review templates, reliability checklists, and tools that support engineering rigor.
- Track design maturity and compliance across station and vehicle architectures.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with configuration/change management and software teams to keep design data organized and actionable.
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, Systems Engineering, or a related field (required)
- Advanced degree in a relevant engineering discipline preferred but not required
