Job Description

Our team needs a Senior Consultant level Machine Learning Engineer with proven knowledge of web application and web service development who will focus on crafting new capabilities for the AI Platform while maturing our code base and development processes. You are a dedicated developer who can work and collaborate in a multifaceted environment as a valued member of our Agile Scrum teams. You should have strong problem-solving abilities and be passionate about coding, testing and debugging skills. You know how to fill product backlog and deliver production-ready code. You must be willing to go beyond the routine and be prepared to do a little bit of everything.

As an integral part of the development team, you will sometimes explore new requirements and design, and at times refactor existing functionality for performance and maintainability. But the goal is always working on ways to make us more efficient and provide better solutions to our end customers. Essential Functions:

  • Function as the tech lead for new model onboarding to AI Platform.
  • Collaborate with project team members (Product Managers, Architects, Analysts, Software Engineers, Project Managers, etc.) to ensure development and implementation of new data driven business solutions.
  • Drive development effort End-to-End for timely delivery of high quality solutions that conform to requirements, conform to the architectural vision, and align with all applicable standards. Responsibilities span all phases of solution development.
  • Collaborate with senior technical staff and PM to identify, document, plan contingency, track and manage risks and issues until all are resolved.
  • Present technical solutions, capabilities, considerations, and features in business terms. Effectively communicate status, issues, and risks in a detailed and timely manner.

This is a hybrid position. Expectation of days in office will be confirmed by your hiring manager.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

  • 8+ years of relevant work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or at least 5 years of experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 2 years of work experience with a PhD, OR 11+ years of relevant work experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 9 or more years of relevant work experience with a Bachelor Degree or 7 or more relevant years of experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 3 or more years of experience with a PhD.
  • Knowledge of real time model inference and model deployment, including feature engineering and/or cloud experience.
  • Experience building agentic AI tools for dev and testing.
  • Expert in Python AND Java OR Golang OR C++ OR Rust.
  • Experience using CI/CD.
  • Experience with web service standards and related patterns (REST, gRPC).
  • Experience developing large scale, enterprise class distributed system or subsystems that require high availability, low-latency, & strong data consistency computing.
  • Experience with Big Data and analytics in general leveraging technologies like Hadoop, Spark, Flink and MapReduce.
  • Experience developing proper metrics instrumentation in software components, to help facilitate real-time and remote troubleshooting/performance monitoring.

Additional Information

Work Hours: Varies upon the needs of the department.

Travel Requirements: This position requires travel 5-10% of the time.

Mental/Physical Requirements: This position will be performed in an office setting.  The position will require the incumbent to sit and stand at a desk, communicate in person and by telephone, frequently operate standard office equipment, such as telephones and computers.

U.S. APPLICANTS ONLY: The estimated salary range for this position is $152,200.00 to $243,700.00 USD per year, which may include potential sales incentive payments (if applicable). Salary may vary depending on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location. In addition, this position may be eligible for bonus and equity. Visa has a comprehensive benefits package for which this position may be eligible that includes Medical, Dental, Vision, 401 (k), FSA/HSA, Life Insurance, Paid Time Off, and Wellness Program.
