Skills
- Strong C programming for embedded systems
- Experience with microcontroller cores (ARM, AVR, MSP430, RISC-V, etc.)
- RTOS experience (FreeRTOS, ThreadX, or similar)
- Proven debugging skills with JTAG/SWD, oscilloscopes, and logic analyzers
- Experience integrating microcontrollers with analog and digital sensors
- Knowledge of wireless and networking protocols and their performance tradeoffs
- Familiarity with common bus protocols (SPI, I2C, CAN, UART/RS232, Ethernet)
- Ability to read schematics and collaborate on PCB/part selection
- Eligible as a U.S. Person for export-controlled work
Responsibilities
- Define firmware architecture and interface specifications for embedded wireless systems with cross-functional teams
- Analyze and implement wireless protocols and vehicle command/control schemes
- Implement low-level device drivers and board support packages for software-defined radio products
- Perform low-level board bring-up and hardware/software integration
- Debug issues spanning electrical, firmware, and higher-level software with tools like JTAG/SWD, oscilloscopes, and logic analyzers
- Participate in microcontroller and peripheral selection and review schematics with electrical engineering
- Manage contributions across multiple concurrent projects and feature sets
Education
- BS or MS in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent industry experience
- Equivalent practical experience in embedded firmware development accepted
