Responsibilities
- Perform hand calculations, spreadsheets, and MATLAB/Python first-order thermal models to guide design decisions.
- Develop and run CFD and thermal FEA simulations to predict temperatures, heat transfer, and fluid behavior.
- Create, maintain, and correlate integrated FEMs for imaging and EO/IR platforms, including STOP analyses.
- Design and support environmental test campaigns and instrumentation selection; perform test-model correlation.
- Prepare technical reports and present analytical findings to internal teams, leadership, and external stakeholders.
- Stay current with thermal analysis methods, materials, and industry standards to inform design improvements.
Education
- MS or higher in engineering or applied physics with emphasis on heat transfer/fluid dynamics (required or in-progress)
