AECOM is seeking a Civil Engineer II to support the planning, design, and delivery of BRT and LRT projects nationally. The successful candidate will bring a collaborative mindset to support AECOM’s growing Transit-Rail practice. In this role you will support the Austin, TX, Houston, TX, or New Orleans, LA Office.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Support efforts for BRT projects, including roadway design, drainage design, maintenance of traffic, station design, civil/site grading, and transit signal priority systems.
• Support multidisciplinary teams through all project phases—from conceptual design through construction.
• Ensure compliance with FTA guidelines, local agency standards, and applicable codes.
• Coordinate with transit agencies, municipalities, and stakeholders to ensure project success.
• Mentor entry engineers and foster a culture of innovation and technical excellence.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

• BA/BS + 2 years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education      

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelors Degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited university
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and MicroStation.
• Experience with transit infrastructure design, including LRT, BRT, and commuter rail.
• Familiarity with transit agencies and regional transportation priorities.
• Experience in engineering project delivery, including design and construction phases.
• Strong understanding of engineering standards, permitting, and regulatory processes.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
