Principal Software Engineer
Skills
- TS/SCI clearance eligibility with CI polygraph required (US Citizens only)
- Strong Linux-based development experience (Ubuntu, RHEL, derivatives)
- Kubernetes orchestration and cluster lifecycle management
- Containerization using Docker or Podman
- Infrastructure as Code using Terraform and configuration management with Ansible
- CI/CD pipeline development and GitLab (or similar) experience
- Experience with disconnected/offline system design and deployment
- Automated testing and test pipeline integration
- Network troubleshooting (firewalls, iptables, proxies) and connectivity diagnostics
- Experience leading engineering efforts and communicating with customers
Responsibilities
- Design, implement, test, and maintain backend systems and integration interfaces to meet customer requirements
- Develop infrastructure-as-code and automation pipelines (provisioning, deployment, decommissioning)
- Build and maintain CI/CD and GitOps pipelines to accelerate delivery and reduce risk
- Create and run automated tests (unit, integration, acceptance) and CI validation
- Troubleshoot, debug, and improve performance and maintainability of deployed systems
- Document architecture, designs, runbooks, and operational procedures
- Participate in Agile ceremonies, peer code reviews, and sprint planning
- Provide technical leadership, mentorship, and daily guidance to engineering team members
- Coordinate directly with customers and end-users to refine requirements and deliver operational capabilities
- Support disconnected and classified environment engineering constraints and operational deployment
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related technical field, or equivalent experience (4 years of relevant experience may substitute)
- US Citizenship required for security clearance eligibility
- Ability to obtain and maintain TS/SCI with CI polygraph
