Senior Software Engineer, Cloud Platform
Skills
- Deep Google Cloud Platform (GCP) expertise including cloud networking and security best practices.
- Extensive experience operating Kubernetes (self-managed and managed) at scale.
- Strong software engineering skills in Python, Go, Java, or TypeScript.
- Proven Infrastructure-as-Code and GitOps experience (Terraform, ArgoCD).
- Experience designing observability and tracing frameworks (OpenTelemetry).
- Familiarity with data systems and streaming tech (PostgreSQL, MySQL, Kafka, Cassandra, Elasticsearch).
- Experience with CI/CD systems (GitHub Actions, TeamCity) and production incident response.
Responsibilities
- Architect and integrate LLM-powered, agentic tools and self-healing automation into the platform to reduce operational toil and accelerate incident resolution.
- Drive the strategic roadmap for GCP and Kubernetes capabilities, balancing developer feedback and emerging cloud technologies.
- Define, build, and maintain SLOs, incident management processes, and participate in on-call rotations to improve platform health and MTTR.
- Design and implement platform security controls (access, encryption, vulnerability management) that preserve developer velocity.
- Manage cloud capacity, FinOps practices, and provide cost-transparent scaling solutions to engineering teams.
- Productize CI/CD and deployment tooling (GitHub Actions, TeamCity, ArgoCD) into a cohesive self-service developer platform.
- Mentor and provide technical leadership to engineers, troubleshoot complex infrastructure issues, and deliver resilient, product-quality fixes.
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Advanced degree preferred but not required.
