In this role, you will have a pivotal impact on shaping the privacy strategies for the Americas region. By collaborating with various stakeholders, you will ensure compliance with an array of privacy laws while navigating the complexities of consumer technology in the FinTech sector. Your expertise will not only support the development and implementation of innovative privacy solutions but will also help educate and align teams across different time zones. • Serve as the specialist privacy resource for complex privacy matters across the Americas region.
• Develop and execute a privacy and data protection strategy in compliance with US, Canadian, and Brazilian regulations.
• Conduct and oversee privacy impact and data protection assessments for new initiatives.
• Provide specialist privacy guidance to product and engineering teams.
• Manage data subject rights and disclosure requests, ensuring timely compliance.
• Lead incident response efforts and develop breach preparedness strategies.
• Monitor and analyze legislative developments to advise leadership.
• Collaborate with privacy regulators in the Americas on compliance matters.
• Develop and maintain comprehensive privacy documentation.

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree and active bar admission in at least one US jurisdiction.
• 7-10 years of experience as a privacy lawyer in a technology company.
• Deep understanding of US privacy laws including CCPA, CPRA, and others.
• Working knowledge of Canadian and Brazilian privacy frameworks.
• Experience with data subject rights and handling law enforcement requests.
• Expertise in implementing privacy by design and collaborating with technical teams.
• Strong project management skills and ability to balance legal advice with business objectives.
• Exceptional communication skills for conveying complex legal issues simply.
• Relevant professional privacy certifications are a plus.
• Willingness to work flexible hours and occasional travel for team collaboration.
