About the Role:
NewtonX is looking to hire its next Senior Finance Analyst to support our rapid growth, and connect NewtonX clients to world-leading professionals. We are looking for motivated people who are excited by the idea of making a difference in the knowledge market. This role is a great entry point into future opportunities at our quickly growing company. The Senior Finance Analyst will work directly with the CFO to deliver efficient and best-in-class analysis of the company performance and key metrics (KPIs). The Senior Financial Analyst will focus on building reports, dashboards and financial models.

New York City, NY (Hybrid)
In this role you will:
Track and analyze projects revenue and costs, reconcile completed projects, ensure project margins are correctly reported. Create reports to track projects margin by Business Units, revenue streams. Analyze key costs and revenue drivers
Support end of month closing activities, review main P&L and Balance sheet items (Unbilled A/R, Deferred Revenue items), determine end-of-month accruals
Compute key performance indicators (KPIs) : sales performance, financial ratios, margins
Collect, compile and reconcile payroll data by employee on a monthly basis
Conduct ad hoc analysis on specific topics
Support the CFO while working on various financials external audits (financials, 401k, etc.), quarterly board meeting preparations and tax returns
Participate in improving the finance department workflows in particular around financial reporting to increase speed to prepare reports and visibility for leadership
Who you are:
3–4 years of professional experience in a quantitative or analytical role
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field (advanced degree a plus)
Proven ability to analyze complex data and develop actionable insights
Strong quantitative and analytical skills with exceptional attention to detail
Demonstrated problem-solving mindset with creativity in approaching difficult challenges
Highly organized, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple priorities effectively
Clear and concise communicator—both in writing and verbally—with the ability to present complex ideas simply
Collaborative team player who also thrives working independently with minimal supervision
Quick thinker who is resourceful, adaptable, and proactive in finding solutions
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (formulas, pivot tables, financial modeling, etc.)
Must have valid U.S. work authorization

You are familiar with cleaning, compiling and formatting a lot of data
