The Head of Forward Engineering leads NX1's post-sale technical organization. They own the full customer technical lifecycle from deployment through solution delivery and expansion. They build and manage a team of customer-facing engineers across four practice areas: Enterprise Deployment, Solution Design & Data Engineering, Legacy Migration, and AI Solutions. They partner closely with Sales, Customer Success, and the Head of Engineering to ensure customers are successful and the product roadmap reflects field realities.
Build, lead, and grow the Forward Engineering organization across all four practice areas
Own customer technical success metrics: deployment time-to-value, solution delivery quality, and expansion revenue generated by the FE team
Define and standardize delivery methodologies, customer engagement models, and technical documentation standards
Serve as the executive technical sponsor for the largest and most complex enterprise deployments
Partner with Sales on pre-sales technical strategy and proposal development for strategic accounts
Drive the AI solutions practice as a differentiating revenue channel
Maintain a feedback loop to Engineering on deployment challenges, integration gaps, and product feature requests
Manage Forward Engineering budget, utilization, staffing, and professional services economics
10+ years technical experience with 4+ years leading customer-facing engineering teams in enterprise software or data platforms
Deep understanding of enterprise data platform architecture including data lakehouses, cloud platforms, and integration patterns
Experience navigating enterprise IT organizations: security reviews, architecture boards, procurement, and change management
Familiarity with Apache ecosystem (Spark, Trino, Iceberg, Ranger) and Kubernetes-based deployments
Strong executive presence and ability to represent NX1 technically at the C-suite level in enterprise customer organizations
Experience with professional services or solutions delivery P&L management
