Lead Voice Engineer

NiCE (NICE Ltd.) is a global leader in AI, cloud and digital customer experience and security solutions. The company seeks an experienced Lead Voice Engineer to own the operability, growth and support of its carrier-grade voice and VoIP infrastructure, working cross-functionally to design, implement, and maintain reliable telephony services while mentoring junior staff.

Skills

  • Expert knowledge of VoIP and SIP protocols
  • Proven experience with Session Border Controllers (carrier-grade environments)
  • Advanced administration of Ribbon Communications (Sonus/PSX) and/or AudioCodes
  • Strong grasp of call routing, Least Cost Routing, number portability, and QoS
  • Proficiency with network capture and analysis tools such as Wireshark
  • Familiarity with network monitoring/management systems
  • Command-line experience on UNIX/Linux platforms
  • Solid IP networking knowledge (TCP/IP, subnetting, routing, VLANs, IPsec, DNS, DHCP)
  • Experience with ticketing platforms (e.g., ServiceNow, Remedy)
  • Understanding of WebRTC, TLS, and SRTP
  • On-call support and ability to work flexible/off-hours schedules

Responsibilities

  • Lead voice infrastructure projects and serve as the subject-matter expert.
  • Act as the primary voice/telephony resource for Sales, Operations, Product, and other teams.
  • Design, review, upgrade, expand, troubleshoot, support, and maintain the voice network.
  • Configure and manage Ribbon Communications and AudioCodes telephony systems and SBCs.
  • Plan and implement disaster recovery and high-availability strategies for voice services.
  • Perform routine maintenance and monitor network health, responding to outages and events.
  • Build and install new customer voice services; provision and maintain customer traffic.
  • Act as escalation point for complex incidents and streamline processes to support scale.
  • Conduct proofs-of-concept and evaluate new voice initiatives and technologies.
  • Train, mentor, and perform knowledge transfer to junior engineers and stakeholders.
  • Document designs, runbooks, and operational procedures; communicate with internal and external stakeholders.

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Telecommunications, Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent work experience
  • Relevant vendor certifications (Ribbon, AudioCodes) preferred
