This is a newly created role reporting directly to the CEO. We're already producing 2,000 content pages a month for small businesses across the U.S. — and we need the person who defines what that output looks like, how it improves, and how the systems that power it get smarter.

Olly Olly serves over 4,000 small businesses — contractors, professional service providers, the people who built their trade and need to be found online. We've built a platform and a team that handles the SEO, content, and digital presence work most agencies charge a fortune for and still get wrong.

We're producing 2,000 content pages a month today. The strategy behind those pages, the quality standards, and the AI systems doing the heavy lifting all need one person who owns them completely. That's what this role is.

THE PROBLEMS YOU'RE SOLVING

Here's exactly what needs to be built

1 SEO STRATEGY

Own the strategic framework that drives rankings, traffic, and conversion for home services and professional services clients

Our clients are plumbers, roofers, lawyers, and insurance agents — not e-commerce brands. The SEO strategy that works for them is specific, local, and increasingly has to account for AI-driven SERP changes. You set the strategic framework the whole team executes against. You're also the person who watches where search is going and adjusts before everyone else catches up.

2 CONTENT STANDARDS

Define the copywriting standard for small business websites — and make sure AI executes it reliably at scale

You're not writing 2,000 pages a month. You're deciding what those 2,000 pages should sound like, what quality means for a roofing company in Memphis versus a financial advisor in Charlotte, and building the standards and prompt systems that get the AI there. The team and the machines execute. You set the bar and hold it.

3 AI PROMPT ENGINEERING

Build and maintain the prompt systems that power content production at scale — with guardrails, not just outputs

This is the core technical work. You design prompt systems using Claude and OpenAI that produce consistent, on-brand, vertically appropriate content at volume. You build in the guardrails that prevent production failures. You drive adoption so the team actually uses what you build. Experimentation is fine — but reliability is the job.

4 TECHNICAL SEO

Provide technical SEO support for Elite clients — the accounts where organic growth, competitive analysis, and ranking recovery are highest stakes

Our Elite clients have complex needs: algorithm recovery, competitive intelligence, technical audits that require someone who can read a log file and make a call. You're the escalation point for the hardest problems and the final review on strategic direction for these accounts.

This isn't just a delivery role. What you learn running strategy at scale — what works in home services vs. professional services, what the AI gets wrong, what patterns appear across hundreds of accounts — feeds directly back into our product roadmap. You report to the CEO. Your field intelligence becomes platform intelligence.

WHAT WE NEED FROM YOU

The experience that matters here

  • 5+ years of advanced SEO strategy with demonstrable outcomes in home services, professional services, or small business verticals — you understand why local SEO is different and you've proven it in results

  • Hands-on AI prompt engineering experience: you've built production prompt systems using Claude, OpenAI, or similar at real volume with real quality standards — not side projects

  • A track record of compressing manual content workflows using AI — you can describe before/after timelines and the guardrails you built to keep quality consistent as volume scaled

  • Deep copywriting judgment for small business websites — you know what good sounds like for a contractor or service provider, and you can encode that standard into systems others execute against

  • Technical SEO fluency at the code level: site architecture, JavaScript rendering, Core Web Vitals, schema markup, log analysis — capable of diagnosing non-obvious ranking problems

  • 2+ years of WordPress experience: SEO plugins, navigating CMS for production-level website changes

  • Experience leading SEO strategists or specialists — not task management, but developing people's diagnostic thinking and strategic judgment

  • Strong business acumen: you understand churn risk, client LTV, and how content and SEO strategy connects to renewal and revenue outcomes

  • Clear judgment about when AI output should be overridden by human expertise — you've built systems that reflect that distinction, not ignored it

What would make you exceptional in this specific role

  • Experience building and maintaining prompt libraries at significant volume — tens of thousands of pages with consistent vertical-specific quality standards

  • Background in agency or multi-client SEO where quality directly determined retention — you understand the cost of inconsistency

  • Familiarity with Python or SQL for custom reporting and insight generation beyond off-the-shelf tools

  • Experience in a company transitioning from services to SaaS — you understand what it means to systematize expertise that used to live in people's heads

  • Track record in competitive verticals: legal, medical, enterprise home services

  • Understanding of how AI is changing local SERP behavior and GBP visibility — not just content production

WHAT YOU GET

COMPENSATION - Competitive base + performance incentives tied to team results & client retention

LOCATION - 100% remote, core hours 8 AM–5 PM EST

TIME OFF - 15 vacation days + U.S. holidays

THE SCALE

4,000+ clients, $25M ARR, 350+ person team. The work is real.

Most roles that involve AI and SEO are either pure strategy with no production accountability, or pure production with no strategic authority. This one is both — because the person who sets the content standard should also be the one building the systems that execute it.
