Sr. Product Manager I, In-vehicle Experience

Who we are

Samsara (NYSE: IOT) is the pioneer of the Connected Operations™ Cloud, which is a platform that enables organizations that depend on physical operations to harness Internet of Things (IoT) data to develop actionable insights and improve their operations. At Samsara, we are helping improve the safety, efficiency and sustainability of the physical operations that power our global economy. Representing more than 40% of global GDP, these industries are the infrastructure of our planet, including agriculture, construction, field services, transportation, and manufacturing — and we are excited to help digitally transform their operations at scale.

Working at Samsara means you’ll help define the future of physical operations and be on a team that’s shaping an exciting array of product solutions, including Video-Based Safety, Vehicle Telematics, Apps and Driver Workflows, and Equipment Monitoring. As part of a recently public company, you’ll have the autonomy and support to make an impact as we build for the long term.

About the role:

Samsara is looking for a Senior Product Manager to lead the In-Vehicle Experience (IVX) team whose target is to turn our in cab camera from a surveillance tool into an intelligent, trusted in-cab companion. The IVX platform controls the voice, content, and communications delivered to drivers through Samsara’s AI-powered dash cameras, and this role is at the center of defining how that experience evolves.

In this role, you’ll own the platform that powers in-cab experience and build features that help drivers feel trusted, informed, and connected while on the road. You’ll work across firmware and full-stack engineering, and partner with PM teams across the organization to design reusable frameworks and deliver customer-facing features. This work sits at the intersection of AI, hardware, and human-centered design, requiring a rare blend of technical depth, customer empathy, and platform thinking.

This is a remote position open to candidates residing in the United States.

You should apply if:

  • You want to impact the industries that run our world: Your efforts will result in real-world impact — helping to keep the lights on, get food into grocery stores, reduce emissions, and most importantly, ensure workers return home safely.
  • You are the architect of your own career: If you put in the work, this role won’t be your last at Samsara. We set up our employees for success and have built a culture that encourages your personal development and rewards ownership.
  • You want to solve problems in a fast-paced, cutting-edge environment: You thrive where problems are complex, new solutions are constantly being introduced, and you push yourself to try new things — including shipping AI-powered products that don’t yet have a playbook.
  • You care about the people who power the physical economy: You believe frontline workers deserve technology that recognizes their contributions, communicates with them on their terms, and genuinely improves their day — not just monitors them.
  • You appreciate candid feedback and an experimental mindset: Samsara employees challenge the status quo and recognize failure as part of the learning process. We encourage each other to be honest and hold ourselves to high standards.

In this role, you will:

  • Own the product vision, strategy, and roadmap for Samsara’s In-Vehicle Experience platform — the system that governs all voice, content, and communication delivered to drivers through the dash camera.
  • Define and prioritize a portfolio of features that allow our clients to interact with the in-cab camera as a trusted companion to their daily workflow
  • Build the in-vehicle experience platform and prioritization layer for internal teams
  • Partner with firmware and full-stack engineering teams to navigate hardware and embedded system constraints and deliver polished, reliable in-cab experiences.
  • Champion the driver’s perspective through continuous customer research — conducting ride-alongs, interviews, and usability sessions to deeply understand how non-desk workers interact with in-cab technology.
  • Collaborate with AI and ML teams to integrate intelligent features into the in-cab experience
  • Define success metrics, monitor product performance, and drive a continuous cycle of experimentation and iteration grounded in data and customer feedback.
  • Champion, role model, and embed Samsara’s cultural principles (Focus on Customer Success, Build for the Long Term, Adopt a Growth Mindset, Be Inclusive, Win as a Team) as we scale globally and across new offices

Minimum requirements for the role:

  • 5+ years of product management experience, with a proven track record shipping products used by real end users at scale.
  • Demonstrated experience shipping AI-powered or ML-driven features
  • Strong customer research skills with experience translating insights into successful product strategies.
  • Platform thinking experience — a track record of designing systems and frameworks that serve multiple downstream consumers
  • Excellent communication skills; able to align cross-functional stakeholders and translate complex technical tradeoffs for diverse audiences.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.

An ideal candidate also has:

  • MBA Preferred.
  • Experience working at the hardware-software intersection — comfortable with firmware constraints, embedded systems, or the physical-digital boundary of connected devices.
  • Experience building in-vehicle products.
  • Experience with voice-based or audio products, or designing for hands-free and eyes-free interaction patterns.
