- Design and implement system-level communication architectures in large campus or industrial settings
- Fiber optic and copper ethernet cabling selection and deployment (MM, SM, CAT5/6/6A)
- TCP/IP configuration and operation for communication equipment
- Familiarity with BICSI, NEC, and TIA/EIA standards and code/fire-protection requirements for cable pathways
- Proficiency with CAD and electrical schematics software
- Project coordination including scope, schedule, and contractor management
- Network health monitoring and troubleshooting in high-availability environments
Responsibilities
- Own end-to-end network infrastructure: product selection, procurement, configuration, installation, and troubleshooting
- Design fiber and copper cabling and network hardware to survive extreme launch environments
- Monitor network health, perform troubleshooting, and determine root cause for system issues
- Conduct job walks with customers, vendors, and contractors to gather requirements and produce implementation plans
- Collaborate with stakeholders and engineers to build operable, scalable, and maintainable solutions
- Develop and maintain documentation, drawings, and specifications for projects
- Participate in day-to-day IT operations and support during critical launch windows
- Supervise technician/contractor crews during implementation and installation activities
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, aerospace engineering, or another STEM discipline
