Simulation Software Engineer (Application Software)
Skills
- Proficient in C++ development and modern C++ best practices
- Experience with debugging, performance optimization, and unit testing
- Solid understanding of classical physics and mathematics (algebra, calculus, Euclidean geometry)
- Familiarity with distributed systems, networking, memory management, and CPU scheduling
- Ability to prototype and iterate quickly to evaluate design trade-offs
- Strong written and verbal communication; ability to work independently and in teams
Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and maintain real-time, high-fidelity simulation software for multiple vehicles and flight systems
- Develop prototypes to validate design concepts and quantify technical constraints
- Improve simulation reliability, performance, and user experience
- Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to build models of fluids, electronics, and multi-body physics
- Debug, profile, and optimize simulation code and support unit testing and CI practices
- Work with simulation users to define and implement new features and workflows
Education
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, math, or other STEM discipline OR 2+ years professional software development experience in lieu of degree
