- Hands-on experience with metal casting processes, especially SX/DS/EQ for Ni-based superalloys
- Failure analysis and root-cause investigation using fractography and metallography
- Experience with SEM-EDS, optical microscopy, hardness testing, and mechanical property testing
- Ability to develop and execute qualification and property development test plans
- Strong cross-functional collaboration and vendor management
- Manufacturing floor experience in high-production environments and process troubleshooting
- Effective written and interpersonal communication skills
Responsibilities
- Develop, qualify, and troubleshoot SX, DS, and EQ casting processes for Ni-based superalloy components
- Perform root-cause investigations and failure analysis using fractography, metallography, and characterization techniques
- Design and execute property development and qualification test plans for castings and foundry processes
- Provide materials-focused technical review and guidance for design, tooling, specifications, and manufacturability
- Coordinate cross-functional efforts with design, supply chain, vendors, operations, technicians, and leadership
- Drive design-for-manufacturability and feedback loops to improve performance, efficiency, reliability, and cost
Education
- Bachelor's degree in materials science, materials engineering, metallurgical engineering, weld engineering, or related engineering discipline (required)
- Master's degree or PhD in a relevant field (preferred)
- Relevant hands-on lab and foundry experience and training
