Skills
- Digital radiography and automated inspection solutions
- Familiarity with ultrasonic, eddy current, and other NDE methods
- Statistical modeling and machine learning for detection/optimization
- Hardware and software development and validation experience
- Automation and robotics integration
- Software coding experience (LabVIEW, Python, C#, SQL)
- Experience with task tracking systems (JIRA or similar)
- Project management and cross-functional communication
Responsibilities
- Develop and deliver advanced nondestructive evaluation inspection solutions and prototypes
- Design, prototype, and implement nondestructive sensor systems to solve manufacturing quality problems
- Collaborate with vehicle engineering to define inspection requirements, feasibility, and part inspectability
- Prototype and bench-validate early inspection concepts to de-risk new technologies
- Coordinate with vendors, tooling, and automation teams to define requirements and manage deliveries
- Drive nondestructive automation initiatives, POD improvement, cycle-time reduction, and defect reduction
- Develop and qualify new inspection processes, including documentation, gauge R&R, and training
- Present risk/performance analysis and recommendations to cross-functional teams and executives
- Define integration test plans and alignment of milestones with program timelines
- Develop data collection and analysis pipelines and iterate designs using field data
Education
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, physics, or computer science (required)
- Master's degree or PhD in an engineering discipline (preferred)
