Who we’re looking for

Toyota’s Marketing Department is looking for a passionate and highly motivated Marketing Planner to support the TDA / TCUV / Rent a Toyota team.

Reporting into the Marketing Manager the primary responsibility of this role is to support the TDA team through the management of Toyota Certified Used Vehicles, Rent a Toyota in addition to supporting Sales Events.  

What you’ll be doing

  • Responsible for day-to-day Toyota Certified Used Vehicles (TCUV) & Rent a Toyota (RT) National marketing operations by acting as the liaison between multiple internal and external departments (TDA, Sales, Region/PDs, Fleet, Digital, Media, Owner Retention, Training, TFS, Lexus, and D&IS) and numerous business partners (Saatchi & Saatchi, Conill, Shift Digital), ensuring business continuity and success 

  • Coordinate creative strategies through consultation with our marketing agencies (SSLA & Conill) to achieve alignment on business objectives, goals, and KPI’s 

  • Review SEO, SEM, and Media performance and act as a key-stakeholder in the development of new, innovative ways to increase consumer awareness and traffic to the TCUV and RT brands 

  • Manage RT Dealer Advertising Co-op Program. Effectively evaluate risks, return-on-investment, and develop program guidelines 

  • Maintain and monitor consumer facing digital properties (Toyotacertified.com & Toyota.com/rental) while continuously focusing on ways to enhance user experience (UX) 

  • Analyze TCUV and RT marketing budgets to accurately forecast spend 

  • Manage (Reorder points, pricing, creation) all Point-of-Sale (POS) Materials (100+ products) for both TCUV and RT by working with suppliers and our Material Distribution Center to effectively forecast demand and supply 

  • Work closely with D&IS App Lead to help solve complex technology and platform issues through to completion

  • Work closely with regional/PD field management on all TCUV and RT marketing activities, including ad-hoc requests, reporting, presentations, and training  

  • Has decision level contributions to TCUV/RT Marketing efforts (ex. TCUV and RT website imagery and copy) 

  • Coordination, planning, and execution of TCUV/RT Round Table (field) meeting and National Dealer Meeting Expo 

  • Initial approver of RT advertising co-op claims 

  • Analyzes MDC inventory levels and places orders of consumer facing materials ordered by dealers 

  • Reviews and submits TDA, TCUV, and RT Co-op and Assessment Fee files to Accounts Payable  

  • Coordinates and approves TCUV and RT retail items sold through Toyota Outfitters 

  • Coordinates certain activities and projects for BCI App Lead 

What you bring

  • Bachelor’s degree

  • At least 1+ years of experience in marketing/advertising or a related field 

  • Exceptional understanding of the digital space and the ability to constantly evolve web properties to maintain digital market leadership 

  • Previous experience working in an automotive landscape 

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint 

  • Highly organized with exceptional verbal and written communication skills 

  • Foundational business acumen to understand corporate strategy and present insights to various audiences 

  • Strong creative and analytical skills, which are necessary to develop successful and innovative marketing strategies 

  • Strong understanding of the elements of UX (User Experience) and UI (User Interface)  

  • Experience with vendor evaluation, selection and management 

  • Proven ability to use consumer-based insights to make appropriate recommendations and influence the organization 

Added bonus if you have

  • MBA or advanced business degree 

  • 4+ years of experience in marketing/advertising or a related field 

  • Experience interfacing with high levels of management across the enterprise, advertising agencies and consultants 

  • Experience with Toyota Regions/PDs and Dealer retail environment  

  • Experience in automotive or automotive related industry  

  • Prior experience in sales or related functions 

  • Exceptional ability to collaborate across divisional operations, including Field, IS, Dealers, Agency Partners to develop relationships, collaborate and drive change
